A warm and inclusive place of worship and outreach where all are welcome!

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church

We invite all to join us in a sacred space of worship each Sunday. Our service begins promptly at 11:00 AM, featuring the Liturgy of the Word and the Holy Eucharist.

Whether you’re a devout believer or simply seeking a moment of peace and reflection, you're warmly welcome to share in this communal experience.

Worship Service

Rooted in the rich histories of St. Mark the Evangelist and Absalom Jones, we stand on the shoulders of those who fought for religious freedom, educational and medical equity, and social justice.

As a part of the Black Church within the global Anglican Communion, we are committed to honoring their legacy and striving for a more just and equitable world.

Our History

St. Mark's is a Episcopal parish in the historic Poindexter Park neighborhood of Jackson, MS. Founded in 1883 as the first Black congregation of the Episcopal Church in Jackson, we are a tight knit community serving as a witness in a thriving Southern city.

St. Mark's stands as a spiritual oasis nestled in the vibrant tapestry of Jackson, Mississippi. As a cornerstone of the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi, we are a beacon of faith, hope, and charity in the heart of the City with Soul.

Families with several generations of history at St. Mark’s worship alongside new transplants to the area, as well as Jackson State University students, local visitors, and tourists. We would love to welcome you to worship and experience the special place we call our spiritual home.
